PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia
Constructed in February 1998, PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit (PETRONAS SIC) was formally opened to the public on March 9, 1999, by the late Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. It took a record 14 months to construct, and because of its diverse facilities, it was granted permission to use the F1 logo in its name from 1999 to 2017.
Referred to as the "crown jewel" of Malaysian motorsports, PETRONAS SIC is best known for its countless motorsports events and activities, including the MotoGPTM, Super GT, World Touring Car Cup (WTCR), Asia Le Mans Series (ALMS), Superbike World Championship (WSBK), Endurance World Championship (EWC), Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), Asia Talent Cup (ATC), Sepang 12 Hours (S12H), Malaysia Championship Series (MCS), Sepang 1000KM Endurance Race (S1K), Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK), and corporate, lifestyle, and exhibition events, making it the preferred venue.
